Here's a screenshot of my browser window when I'm editing a post on my 13" screen:

Having the giant featured image display above the editor takes up a lot of space, and I can't even see the beginning of the actual post content. Seems redundant to me given that we also have the expandable sidebar thing that shows the featured image as well.
