Can't download Anaconda to Macbook Pro

What happened?

The file gets written on my desk and then I get the error message "the installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."

Expected behavior or outcome

Expected to download Anaconda and open the application.
