FEZ Code of Conduct

Contributor Covenant

Please note that this project is released with a specific Contributor Code of Conduct. By participating in this project you agree to abide by its terms. We as members and contributors strive to make all people– regardless of their background or identity– who come to this project as a contributor or potential user feel comfortable, included in decision making, and be able to participate and learn in a safe space. Therefore, users should avoid making assumptions about gender or race, reinforcing stereotypes, using sexualized or otherwise inappropriate language, or demonstrating a lack of regard for the safety and well-being of vulnerable people.

To promote a positive atmosphere:

• Be friendly and patient as not everyone may be as experienced or knowledgeable

• Be welcoming as this is a safe space for everyone to contribute and learn

• Be considerate and try to actively listen to other people

• Be creative and leave space for other people to do so

• Be respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints and experiences

• Be careful in the words that we choose and make sure criticism is always constructive

• Try to be mindful of your fellow contributors or participants

• It is okay to disagree but during arguments try to understand why we disagree

• Convey your opinion in a calm and understanding manner

• When using content or code make sure to contact the original creator prior to using it and make sure to cite them

Unacceptable behaviors include:

• The use of sexually explicit language, imagery, and sexual attention or advances of any kind

• Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments

• Public or private harassment including verbal comments reinforcing social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, etc.

• Publishing others’ private information, such as a physical or email address, without their explicit permission

• Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces, and also applies when an individual is officially representing the community in public spaces including public events. Examples of representing our community include using an official e-mail address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event.

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior should be reported to the community leaders responsible for enforcement at fezurich@gmail.com Please state the names of all people involved, try including screen captures, details on what happened, provide additional context if possible and mention whether it is still ongoing. We are here to support everyone when necessary.

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly after which a statement will be published through the various community channels. All community leaders are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident, therefore their identity will not be revealed regardless of the circumstances.

Enforcement

Community leaders are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action including warning or expelling the offender in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful. Community leaders have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.

Enforcement Guidelines

(modified from Contributor Covenant, version 2.0: https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/2/0/code_of_conduct.html)

Community leaders will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining the consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct:

1. Warning Community Impact: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional or unwelcome in the community. Consequence: A private, written warning from community leaders, providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.

2. Temporary Ban Community Impact: A serious violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior. Consequence: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period of time. No public or private interaction with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, is allowed during this period. Violating these terms may lead to a permanent ban.

3. Permanent Ban Community Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward or disparagement of classes of individuals. Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.
