Ubuntu: resolve unversion issues

Currently, verify in unversion mode for Ubuntu isn't finding new versions even when we believe they manage to be installed properly; no errors are found related to installing that package, and it is being installed according to logs, but we don't find it when we ask for the packages that are installed. This means we never get a new version and all unversioned packages end up not having a version.
