This is a placeholder for us to research where we can add in support for organizational and funder identifers into Dataverse's metadata (at the Account, Dataverse and Dataset level since Affiliations exist throughout these pieces).

Prio meeting:

  • This issue is very broad.
  • There has been work to allow depositors to choose funder names suggested from the crossreg funder registry. Anything around support for organziational identifiers is pretty broad. The same PR that jim is working on for funder meta data. Those changes were also made to let depositors choose organization names for author affliliation metadata.
  • There are many places where we could improve support for organizational identifiers. We talked about some of this in Support for Crossref Funder Registry ID #7285

This needs planning

  • what have we done so far.
  • What do we need to do.
  • Are there newer issues that make this issue redundant?
