When using the ColecoVision or Atari 5200 cores, sometimes I like to use a modern controller for convenience. I have both a DualSense and an SN30 Pro. To play these numberpad consoles with a modern controller, I like to map as following: left Stick up 1, right 2, down 3, left 4, right stick up 5, right 6, down 7, left 8, LT 9, RT, 0, and then map the clear and enter buttons as select and start and the fire buttons as the face buttons.
This configuration works great in the ColecoVision and Atari 5200 cores, but it doesn't work at all in the Intellivision core. For example, I can't start the game in Atlantis bc you need to press 7 or 9 to play one or 2 players, and 4 or 6 to select your difficulty. Nothing functions so you're just stuck on the attract mode screen unless using a numberpad controller like the Super Famicom NTT Datapad.

Just tested Auto Racing, and with my current mapping config it prompts you to select a course (buttons 1-5 for each course). Course 3 works, left stick down, and course 5 works, right stick up, but courses 1, 2 and 4 aren't selectable, so it seems that left analog stick down is mappable and right analog stick up is mappable, but not any other analog stick input afaik.
Another test for Boxing shows that the same issues exist, but the right stick direction right works for button 6.
After some extensive testing, Mountain Madness Super Pro Skiing made me figure out what's going on via testing on the select course menu. With my current setup, the right stick works completely as 5, 6, 7, 8, so the right stick's mappings are perfect.
The left stick's up (1), right (2), and left (4) don't work. Down (3) does work though. So the left analog stick's mapping are the only thing that need to be reconfigured :)
