If I I set Eureka server in a standalone configuration Lease renewal threshold always remains at 0 and lease expiration never kicks in. I tracked it down to this line of code
if (this.expectedNumberOfClientsSendingRenews > 0) {
Not sure what was the reason for this zero check but on standalone server without any peers attached expectedNumberOfClientsSendingRenews is always zero and never increased anywhere in the code, so threshold always remains zero.
