Stargate Invasion (SGI) Installation

Installing a Sins of a Solar Empire mod

For instructions on how to install a mod for Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion, please see these instructions on Steam.

Downloading the Stargate Invasion mod

There are two methods for downloading the development build of Stargate Invasion.

Download with Synchronized Updates

Download the full mod and stay up to date with regular synchronization.

  1. Identify your Sins of a Solar Empire mod folder (see these instructions). If you have an existing folder for SGI, delete the old mod.
  2. Download and install GitHub Desktop or use an alternative Git application.
  3. Navigate to the SGI code repository and click the green "Clone or Download" button and select "Open to Desktop". This will launch your GitHub Desktop application.
  4. Set the location of the local repository to the Sins of a Solar Empire mod folder with a suffix for an SGI directory.
  5. Start Sins of a Solar Empire and utilize the Option / Mods menu to enable SGI or replace the EnableMods.txt in the Sins mod folder with the EnableMods.txt file included with the SGI mod (verify the mod directory name in the EnableMods.txt file).
  6. Before starting a new SGI game, open the GitHub Desktop application and synchronize (or fetch) to get the latest code.

Download Archive without Updates

Download the full mod without synchronization. Updating the mod requires another full download and installation.

  1. Download the SGI mod Archive (zip) from our code repository.
  2. If you have an existing mod folder for SGI, delete the old mod.
  3. Extract the contents of the archive into the Sins of a Solar Empire mod folder as described in these instructions on Steam.
  4. Start Sins of a Solar Empire and utilize the Option / Mods menu to enable SGI or replace the EnableMods.txt in the Sins mod folder with the EnableMods.txt file included with the SGI mod (verify the mod directory name in the EnableMods.txt file).
