Should we have a 'featured' font category? It could be used to list the featured fonts as default the default view of the "install fonts" tab. Currently we are listing all the fonts alphabetically.

How the list is currently looking:

This seems to be slated for stage 3 items -- does that mean there are still plans to have it in 6.4 at this point? We're doing triage for the board and want to see what task remain to be included (and tested).

It would be simple to implement so if this is something interesting it could be added.

@matiasbenedetto do you mind providing some clarification as to what conditions would make a font be Featured?

Otherwise, I’m not sure what the proposal is? 🤔

After a review by core editor triage and core editor tech leads on the WordPress 6.5 release team, this issue is being removed from the release.

If we're able to get more clarity or it becomes clear this is needed, please say so!
