I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but is there any way to encrypt the bitstream using an AES key? I know the ECP5 family supports it, but I don't know if the open toolchain does. This would also require a way to program the OTP eFuses

Unfortunately, this isn't supported, attempting to figure out eFuses without risking bricking several FPGAs has never seemed very tempting...
