Ardour doesn't start when Fantome-theme is applied

So I have this weird issue where Ardour doesn't start when I have the Fantome theme applied. Lumiere works fine. I figured you might have some insight, since you're the dude who made it, after all :D

OS: Ubuntu Studio 18.04.1 with Xfce

application: Ardour 5.12.0

expected behavior: application starts

actual behavior: application hangs indefinitely during start

terminal output when successfully starting Ardour (Materia-dark theme):
