returning false on event-drag-create but the event creation is not rejected

Hello. I've created a function that return false to the on the event-drag-create so I can freely manipulate the event I want to create but event creation is not canceled so the event I tried to create is rendered.
here is the template part:
<VueCal v-bind="planningConfigs" :events="calendarEvents" :on-event-click="onEventClick" @event-drag-create="createEvent" />
My function looks like:
