Error message:

Loading variables for new season
At line 5511 of file tmp.call_mcd.F
Internal Error: get_unit(): Bad internal unit KIND

Apparently this relates to a wrong interpretation of conversion from integer to character. Compiling with gfortran works fine, so this is a f2py problem.

It works now, after installing / deinstalling gcc/libgcc in conda. My conda installation shall have been broken somewhere. Now it works.
