Steps to reproduce

  • Install vim-plug:
    curl -fLo ~/.vim/autoload/plug.vim --create-dirs \
      https://raw.githubusercontent.com/junegunn/vim-plug/master/plug.vim

  • Change ~/.vimrc to this one:
    :set number relativenumber
    call plug#begin()
    Plug 'davidhalter/jedi'
    call plug#end()
  • Restart vim
  • Run :PlugInstall
  • Restart vim
  • Open any python file (with .py extension)
  • Enter insert mode and type print(
  • Press and obtain E29: No inserted text yet

Output of “:verbose JediDebugInfo”

My ~/.vimrc is wrong, it must be:

:set number relativenumber
call plug#begin()
Plug 'davidhalter/jedi-vim'
call plug#end()
