The tree view behavior is exactly what I've been looking for, good work! But the same thing happens for files opened in other ways, namely File->Open, or Find->Find File (Cmd+T or Cmd+P), which may or not be desirable. I would prefer for new tabs to be opened in that case, as Sublime does

Just so I understand: You mean, when opening a file, you expect it to be permanently? If so, I completely agree.

Yes, that is correct. (Or if the 'temporary' file behavior is also useful for someone, it would be nice for this to be a user option). Thanks!

Got it.. I'll investigate a fix for this! Thanks! 😃

@alvinchow86 v0.3.1 contains a fix that lets you right click and "keep tab".

#8 prevents you from updating it via the Settings tab.. you'll have to rm -fr ~/.atom/packages/sublime-tabs and reinstall :(

Cool, that helps a bit! I think the proper solution is still to make opening files by the explicit file open commands to be permanent by default (it is a bit of a hassle to have to right click the tab).

@alvinchow86 Couldn't agree more.. I needed a solid solution to push out until i could figure something out. if you get time, maybe you could look into it? 👍 I'll get to it "eventually" if not...

Sure I'll take a look when I get a chance, have to learn a bit about Atom plugin development first =)

well, when you hit return in sublime, it does (and should) keep the tap open. this is my 👍 behavior.

I would love to see this happen as well 👍
