Operations/Metrics/Logging/Monitoring

Hi there,
as a systems administrator I need to run tranquility and need to be sure it does what it's supposed to be. To achieve this I need to have some means to monitor the applications behaviour.
As I could not find any docs relating to this I'm opening this issue.
From my point of view the following features would be really great:

• configurable logging
• health endpoint
• some means to expose metrics
• status API
