I could only reproduce programatically creating JDT IProblem (turned into a marker/an annotation) with length 0 using Javac backend, or with a marker of length=1 on line end.
I expected: Red squiggle underline at expected location in the code to show the error
But got: Marker in the line ruler, but not on the text editor.
Tested under this environment:
OS & version: Fedora 40
Eclipse IDE/Platform version (as shown in Help > About): Latest 4.34-I-build

I understand reporting an issue to this OSS project does not mandate anyone to fix it. Other contributors may consider the issue, or not, at their own convenience. The most efficient way to get it fixed is that I fix it myself and contribute it back as a good quality patch to the project.
