In the past based on #73141 we implemented telemetry for Stack Monitoring #75878. Since then, it doesn't look like we've used this data or created any charts in in the Stack Monitoring space https://kibana.telemetry.elastic.co/.

Other that one query that telemetry is using fetchClusters which was modified to query metrics-elasticsearch-* as part of its index pattern, we are not querying for metrics-* data. Should we? If so, is it a priority since we don't seem to be doing anything with telemetry data? There is a metricbeatIsUsed value that is determined from the queries and we would probably want to do something similar if index is metrics.

Since we're not currently doing anything with this data I'm going to close this.

Reopening to investigate telemetry possibilities
Adding a property to signal agent usage would be great, the data is already indexed in the telemetry cluster but we'll probably have to update mappings somewhere. @ravikesarwani (pinging from #73141) do you know if we built a dashboard with this data ?

We should also look at the current capabilities of package telemetry. it should provide more insights like version installed, number of agents or options enabled
