We need a method for exporting a dashboard to a single denormalized object. The idea is that this object could be saved to the filesystem and loaded back into the dashboard (closing #2310) and could include variable references that are pulled from the query string (closing #2116).

Things to consider:

  • How will properly rehydrate a SavedObject and it's related dependencies?
  • How can we make it so that third-party visualizations can play along in the fun?
