Material Components for the web is the successor to Material Design Lite,

Will there be a switch over to this coming soon?

The possibility of a switch will be discussed when Material Components for Web is stable. Right now it is still in very active development, so doing a transition at this point wouldn't be good for developers using WSK.

@Garbee — What do you mean by "possibility of a switch" ?
Since WSK is under Google's hood, isn't it unavoidable/mandatory, for consistency's sake in all products using Material Design?
