I have been working on a project where i need to data log to a flash chip so, i got the Adafruit XTSD 512M SPI flash chip and tried to use it with a Teensy 4.0, but the card failed to initialize. I have been trying a lot of things but i just can't get it to work, i have been just trying to get the Sdinfo sketch to work. I made sure that my SPI lines where all hooked up right. When i try to run Sdinfo i get this error:

SD initialization failed.
Do not reformat the card!
Is the card correctly inserted?
Is there a wiring/soldering problem?
SD errorCode: SD_CARD_ERROR_ACMD41 = 0x17
SD errorData = 0x0

I have tried changing the SCK frequency but have had no luck.
Here is the code:

`/*
 * This program attempts to initialize an SD card and analyze its structure.
 */
#include "SdFat.h"
#include "sdios.h"
/*

*/
const int8_t DISABLE_CS_PIN = -1;
/*
  Change the value of SD_CS_PIN if you are using SPI
  and your hardware does not use the default value, SS.
  Common values are:
  Arduino Ethernet shield: pin 4
  Sparkfun SD shield: pin 8
  Adafruit SD shields and modules: pin 10
*/

It fails here,

This is almost always a wiring error. This takes place at very slow SPI clock, 400 kHz.

I can't help since I don't have your hardware.

Ok. It seems like the chip i'm using is quite problematic with spi from what i have found online. Thanks anyway.
