Hey there @balloob, @marcelveldt, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (hue) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Experiencing same issues randomly every one of my 5 dimmers detects button press on all 4 of its buttons at the same time. No idea how long it's been going on. I have old and new gen dimmers and both seem to be affected.

Had the same thing happen to me today with a hue smart button. Seems there is a fair amount of history and related work here:

I took a snapshot and just updated to 2024.7 now to see if it would help.

I also just experienced this. I had an automation set up to run based on a Hue dimmer button press, and it just randomly went off without anyone pressing the button.

Spot checking my other Hue dimmer switches and a lot of them reported button presses at the same time, about an hour ago.

It apparently has something to do with hue bridge updates. In the hue app, I tried changing the updates to happen at 3 AM, when I know I absolutely wouldn't be using the button.

I thought about restricting my automation to only work outside the range of 2:45-3:15AM, but what I'm using the button for doesn't really matter if it triggers at 3 AM sometimes.

Opened a pull request for aiohue (home-assistant-libs/aiohue#377) to patch the issue.

Happy to see this is fixed & merged! Anyone know how to get the latest release? Do we need to wait for an update to home assistant itself?

Thank you @idekker for the fix.

@joshje it looks like this will make it into the 2024.7.4 update.
