From 3dfc4a08dc2e77178f2c2af68dc14b32da2d8b8f Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Erik Johnston Date: Fri, 30 Sep 2022 13:15:32 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] Fix performance regression in `get_users_in_room` (#13972) Fixes #13942. Introduced in #13575. Basically, let's only get the ordered set of hosts out of the DB if we need an ordered set of hosts. Since we split the function up the caching won't be as good, but I think it will still be fine as e.g. multiple backfill requests for the same room will hit the cache. --- changelog.d/13972.bugfix | 1 + synapse/handlers/federation.py | 4 +- synapse/handlers/room.py | 4 +- synapse/storage/controllers/state.py | 30 +++-- synapse/storage/databases/main/roommember.py | 129 +++++++++++-------- 5 files changed, 98 insertions(+), 70 deletions(-) create mode 100644 changelog.d/13972.bugfix diff --git a/changelog.d/13972.bugfix b/changelog.d/13972.bugfix new file mode 100644 index 000000000000..4c1e19ef8c57 --- /dev/null +++ b/changelog.d/13972.bugfix @@ -0,0 +1 @@ +Fix a performance regression in the `get_users_in_room` database query.
