Hi,

on https://www.naemon.org/documentation/usersguide/objectinheritance.html I found this little note
" * If either of contacts or contact_groups is specified, the object will not inherit neither contacts nor contact_groups from its related object."

Was this always that way in naemon?

In "the old days" (Nagios /Icinga 1) I used to assign contact_groups to hosts and add additional contacts as "contacts" to the service.
Which was pretty easy to handle

Now if I use host-templates and I just want to add some additional contacts to the service, I need to search for all contacts (and contact_groups) related to the host and add it to the service.
If a service is linked to multiple hosts with different contacts , I need to create multiple services with different contacts even if the service is the same.

Is there a new and easier approach?

BR
Oliver

yes - nope

works "within" the host configuration and "within" the service config, but not for inherited contacts/contact_groups from a host
