Hi,

In RPM we are using /etc/sysconfig/opensearch file for default env vars.
In DEB we also use the same but the correct location should be /etc/default/opensearch.

As of now due to the file present it is running with no issues on DEB.

We need to fix this in 3.x.

Thanks.

Reopen as the permanent file path change will be added in 3.x.

Apparently OSD in RPM is using /etc/default already......
/etc/default/opensearch-dashboards

Either we make all rpms using /etc/sysconfig and all debs using /etc/default or let it be.
Another way is just to push everything into the /etc/default and ignore /etc/sysconfig, or vise versa......
