Node uses the following tags:
Current
Active LTS
Maintenance LTS
See also the part on their site on release: https://nodejs.org/en/about/releases/
We're historically using the tags
latest
,stable
andlts
.I think we should align the tags with Node JS release.
latest
was pointing to thecurrent
and for even version numbers, this is no problem. With odd version numbers this is causing problems.
Therefore I want to suggest the following change in tags:
current
will be aligned with Node Current releases.active
will be aligned with Node Active LTS releases.maintenance
will be aligned with Node Maintenance LTS releases.stable
will be an alias foractive
lts
will be an alias foractive
latest
will be an alias foractive
This way, projects using our tags schema will not all of a sudden break. In documentation I want to stress the use of the first three tags as much as possible.
What do you think of this approach?
