Sorry other question: would it be possible to

work out whether there are any windows open currently
close some/all of those windows from julia (maybe something like electronclose(;windowsid=[:win1, :win2]) )

Going on 3 years and no movement?

Seems like very basic functionality that PyPlot and GR provide.

Part of programmatic control and "house-keeping."
