Is there a way to make the first line offset from the top? I've played with the scheme but couldn't find any setting for this.

Starting the document with some blank lines is not your intention, I think.
If you think of a visual style like Menu->View->Display->Scroll Past End of File, for the end of the document,
this is not possible.
You can add Extra Line Spacing , but this is for all lines - I think this is not you are looking for .

This feature will not be implemented yet.
