it seems to work well in primer and enables code editors to do proper syntax highlighting and linting.
maybe after merging #59 would be a good opportunity to do it

Would it be a good time to extract all the snippets? Once we have it ready we should also automate validation so that we ensure that all the snippets at least have valid syntax.
