+# Basic Formal Ontology (BFO) 2.0 OWL Release
+
+On July 20, 2012, the Basic Formal Ontology (BFO) made a draft release of BFO 2 for public comments. Following extensive discussions in the BFO community the decision has been made to release BFO 2.0 OWL including classes only. http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/bfo.owl
+
+The incorporation of core relations have been postponed to version BFO 2.1 OWL.
+
+Work on the proposed first-order logic / CLIF release of BFO 2.0 is continuing, and the current version is available for review here: https://ontohub.org/bfo
+
+The BFO 2.0 contains all classes defined in the draft release (2012-11-15) except for some minor changes to metadata, such as relabel 'fiat object' to 'fiat object part'.
