What kind of change does this PR introduce?

  • Adds the Conda-forge badge to the README
  • Adds a few hyperlinks to outside documentation
  • Updates the installation documentation
  • Explicitly ignore the Conda configuration files via Manifest exclude

Does this PR introduce a breaking change?

No.

Other information:

The Conda configurations are officially obsolete and will be simplified and moved to another repository eventually.
