What is ODL Studio?

Open Door Logistics Studio is an easy-to-use standalone open source application for performing (a) geographic analysis of your customer base, (b) sales territory design and (c) vehicle fleet scheduling. ODL Studio runs off an Excel spreadsheet file so you don't need to import or export your data into other formats.

Visit www.opendoorlogistics.com today to download the latest release for free, work through the extensive tutorials or enquire about support. Open Door Logistics can provide extensive support and training to guide you through integrating ODL Studio with your systems.

Customer geocoding & mapping

ODL Studio lets you perform geographic analysis of customer records held in an Excel:

  • Geocode your customer data held within an Excel based on address or postcode.
  • View your customers in an interactive map.
  • Export customer reports with maps to PDF or Word.

Territory design & mapping

ODL Studio is also a fully-featured sales territory design and management application. You can:

  • Perform territory design and territory management for sales or delivery territories based on your key statistics.
  • Design territories visually by simply 'painting' them on the map using your mouse.
  • Sophisticated territory mapping allows you to colour and shade your territories.
  • Automatically optimise territories using a powerful algorithm.
  • Generate sophisticated PDF reports containing maps of your territories and detailed breakdowns of their key statistics.

More details on the sales territory management functionality are available here and on territory map generation here.

Vehicle fleet planning

ODL Studio uses the excellent jsprit vehicle routing toolkit to optimise vehicle routing problems. Using ODL Studio with jsprit, you can:

  • Automatically schedule an efficient set of routes to serve your delivery points.
  • Manually plan routes for your fleet of vehicles with the route editor.
  • Model driving time using real road networks, provided by the Graphhopper project.
  • View the routes in an interactive map.
  • View tabular breakdowns of key statistics – e.g. total mileage and driving time.
  • Analyse time usage using a Gantt chart control.
  • Generate detailed route reports and export them to pdf or other formats.

Run SQL-like queries and updates directly on data held in an Excel spreadsheet.
