Contents of HammerDB installer

Hello,

I have a question regarding the installer, for example version 3.3: https://github.com/TPC-Council/HammerDB/releases/download/v3.3/HammerDB-3.3-Linux-x86-64-Install

Executing the installer, I guess what it does is unpack the Linux package (hammerdb-3.3-linux.tar.gz) - which already include the libraries plugins for different databases - into /usr/local/HammerDB-3.3 by default. And correct user permissions. Is there anything else ?

If possible, could you point me to the source to generate this installer binary ?

Yes this is correct the installation files are exactly the same as in the tar.gz. The installer is a commercial product from VMware that you can find here https://installbuilder.com/

Another related question, can I use the binary libraries from my distro instead, rather than using the officially distributed binaries below ?

All of the binary packages used by HammerDB are open source, a number of them are built along with the TCL and TK source. All have been compiled for both Linux and Windows x86-64. I would not recommend using other packages as only the included ones have been tested.
