Base Case Transitions with Current Cyclus & Cycamore

In this milesone, we will demonstrate the current ability for Cyclus and Cycamore to arrive at transitions between EG01 and four evaluation groups:

  • EG23 - Continuous recycle of U/Pu with new natural-U fuel in fast critical reactors
  • EG24 - Continuous recycle of U/TRU with new natural-U fuel in fast critical reactors
  • EG29 - Continuous recycle of U/Pu with …

In this milesone, we will demonstrate the current ability for Cyclus and Cycamore to arrive at transitions between EG01 and four evaluation groups:

  • EG23 - Continuous recycle of U/Pu with new natural-U fuel in fast critical reactors
  • EG24 - Continuous recycle of U/TRU with new natural-U fuel in fast critical reactors
  • EG29 - Continuous recycle of U/Pu with new natural-U fuel in both fast and thermal critical reactors
  • EG30 - Continuous recycle of U/TRU with new natural-U fuel in both fast and thermal critical reactors.

It is possible that Cyclus and Cycamore lack some of the capabilities necessary to complete these scenarios. Those gaps will be identified as part of this milestone and necessary feature additions to Cyclus/Cycamore will be accordingly defined.

For the record, this milestone is the specific NEUP deliverable, due in month 9, described thusly:

Test-run target transition analyses (EG 23, 24, 29, and 30) with existing Cyclus & Cycamore capabilities to identify and rectify non-algorithmic capability gaps (e.g. specific fuel cycle process archetypes) necessary for complete simulation.
