Continuing on the improvement theme of the past week, today we have an updated site design!

What Changed?

Litterely EVERYTHING, I’m not even joking! Redesigned from scratch on Materialize CSS, the site now features a responsive and colorful layout using Google’s Material Design principles. The content is the same as before but the presentation is different.

The other change, is there’s now a Page icon. This should make it easier to find your tab. Also, it means you can add it to your homescreen or Start screen/menu on Windows! Oh and that Windows Live Tile will show you the latest Blog updates (like this one)!

What’s that circle thing do?

That is a button called a FAB (Floating Action Button), click it and it launches a pop-out music player to listen while browsing. Even when you are on a mobile device, it will open in a new tab and (depending on Phone/Browser/OS) you can go back to using other apps while still playing! No app required!

If you hover over it though, then the Song Request form appears as another, smaller button above the play icon!

Where did the other links go?

They are now in a Navgation Drawer opened by clicking the 3-line icon on the top left corner of the page. If you are on a touchscreen, you can swipe it open like a native app!

New Slogan

This isn’t the most important thing in the world, but our slogan is now Unique Radio. 24/7.

Our old one was Your News. Your Music. Vox Variety.

Two main reasons it changed:

  • Well, we don’t play news anymore.
  • I shamelessly took it from a local radio station as I couldn’t think of anything originally.
