This is a:

  • bug fix PR with no breaking changes (please change the base branch to main)
  • new functionality
  • a breaking change
  • update to docs to clarify behaviour

Description & motivation

Following a slack conversation I think that date_spine is half open. The docs do not explain what will happen if the end_date is a valid element of the spine, so this attempts to do so.
