One thing that is a little annoying is that If my kibana decides that i'm trying to display too much information on one screen it tells me my container is too small to render.

It would be really nice if it just created a scrollable container so I could see all the graphs.

This is worth discussing. I personally think we can do a better job of making visualizations fit tiny containers. Even if that means making them so small they're unreadable. The current situation leaves containers that could very well hold a readable chart without axis labels & ticks

We've had a customer that has been impacted by this when embedding visualisations in external apps. Their comments;

I am trying to create a dashboard (java framework) and display multiple kibana reports in a page using JavaScript and Jquery.

For some of the graphs, randomly I keep getting "This container is too small to render the visualization" and then the graph loads after some time.

The issue is particularly frequent and problematic with "split charts".
If you have more than five or ten charts you always get the error where a scrollable page is probably exactly what you would expect to see.

I'm using split charts in an embedded context and often have this "too small" message.

Two years on and this is still a really annoying issue. Will adding another +1 to the pile make a difference?

TSVB gauges scroll today. We'll be considering this when adding small multiple visualizations to Lens. Closing this issue as we have no plans to add additional support to Visualize.

Since this would require a large development effort to implement in Visualize/TSVB and our efforts are focused on extending the functionality of Lens in easy-to-use and consistent way. We aim to provide the best possible visualization editing experience in Lens and are working to improve that tool and help users migrate.
