Thanks a lot for working on this, @cjcenizal! Both cards and deprecation pages now display consistently when there is an error.
Code changes LGTM and I tested locally with mocked API responses and verified the correct error messages.
I have only couple non-blocking UI comments, maybe for a follow up PR:
- I think that a disabled issues card on the overview page is more intuitive when there is an error, the same as it's disabled when there are no issues:
- When there is an error, would it helpful to let the user reload the deprecations? Following my first comment, currently clicking the issues card opens the deprecations page with the same error message. There is not a more detailed stack message or similar and there is no way to retry other than reloading the whole page. So if the issues card is disabled on the overview page, there could be a button in it that allows the user to reload the deprecations. The same could be added to the deprecations page itself.

Thanks for the review and for your thoughtful suggestions @yuliacech! I considered the disabled state as well, and my current stance is that if we're going to disable the links then we should disable the routes too. But both of those seem odd to me -- why restrict access to parts of the UI because of what could possibly be a transient network error? Let's keep this in mind and come back to it later. I'm sure this question will come up again as we continue to iterate on UA in 8.x. Regarding reloading deprecations, I think this is a good suggestion but with 4 weeks left in the dev cycle I think it's at the bottom of the priority list. As you mentioned folks can reload the page. With a workaround available, I think we should punt on this enhancement until we iterate on UA more in 8.x. |
