ability to create an unnumbered section #105
Comments
@henrik@levkowetz.com commented Some notes:

@julian.reschke@gmx.de commented Another use case are sub-sections that do not need numbers. Proposal: allowed before and after numbered sections at the same nesting level, but not in between. |
@henrik@levkowetz.com commented Allowing unnumbered sub-sections before and after numbered sections, but not in between seems reasonable. Another issue is the possibility of subsections of unnumbered sections. Proposal: Unnumbered sections should not be allowed to have subsections of their own. Rationale: In text/plain output, an unnumbered section with an unnumbered subsection would be indistinguishable from a sequence of two unnumbered sections. In general, it becomes an unnecessary pain to sort out if/how to distinguish subsections of unnumbered sections from sequences of unnumbered sections. Easiest (also implementation-wise) would be to simply not permit subsections of unnumbered sections. |

@henrik@levkowetz.com commented Fixed in 5415ea8: Added the ability to create unnumbered sections by using the attribute numbered="no" on the section element, with the constraints specified in draft-hoffman-xml2rfc-15. Fixes issue #105. |

Ability to have a section that does not appear with a number (or letter) and is listed in the TOC without a number (or letter). Perhaps this could be a new attribute of the section element.
Likely use case: for a section that is after a lettered appendix and before 'Authors' Addresses'.
For example:
Output:
