Attempts to render rfc8799.xml, and rfc9001.xml fail with

Error: Found no element to match the target attribute 'section-a.1'

This is an effect of the fix to #581, which changed the format of the appendix section numbering.

If you need a quick workaround, running --unprep on the RFC XML will give you an XML file that can be rendered.

Fixed in 148395b:

Keep pns from incoming xml when present; handle case that an author does not have an after-next element. Fixes #664. Commit ready for merge.
