As the name suggests, “ProxyMITY” serves as a “proxy”, i.e. it provides virtual closeness (proximity) without the actual classroom. It is a “proxy Multimedia Integration Tool for You”, that helps teachers create dynamic rich-media lectures. Porting of ProxyMITY on Aakash Tablet helps users to get access to quality lectures of reputed teachers, for effective personalized learning. They have the flexibility of studying anytime, anywhere, and at their own pace. They can also navigate through the topics within the lecture. They can also play the subtitles with the video for better understanding. Bookmarking feature helps users to create and update the bookmarks on the videos.
- This process requires a working internet connection. If you're
behind proxy, then set
no proxyfor 127.0.0.1 in your WiFi proxy settings. This is not required for normal direct internet connections. - Download the latest proxyMITY.apk from here and install it on your Aakash.
- After opening the proxyMITY application it will ask for downloading.Click on 'Ok' to download some demo lectures.
- The download and uncompress process will take some while.
- If you don't wish to download demo lectures from Internet then, in the External SD CARD menu(mnt/extsd)
or Internal SD CARD(mnt/sdcard) there should be a folder named
proxyMITY. - In
proxyMITYfolder there should be two more folders namedvideoandxml. - In the video folder insert video lectures and in xml folder insert their respective xml files.
(Note: the name of the video lecture and the xml file should be same)
