Linux VMs do not boot on macOS Sequoia host with virtualBuddy 2.0beta

When creating linux based VM in virtualbuddy 2.0 beta on macOS 15.0, the VM does not boot and I am stuck with the spinning wheel on a gray empty window.

Everything works perfectly when I create a macOS VM.

As anybody already experienced such an issue ?

Did you verify that it only happens in the 2.0 beta, or do you have the same result with the latest stable release?

If possible please share a link to the Linux ISO you're trying to install.

I observed also that on the stable release and switched to the beta as I suspected that it was due to my macOS version (15).

I'm using the linux distro that is listed in the "Pick a Linux version do download" setting.

Ok that is strange:

• When I purge the VirtualBuddy VM folder and create a new VM from a listed distro (jammy), the iso is downloaded as expected but I get the spinning wheel at start up
• When I kill the app and restart VirtubalBuddy, the new VM does not boot as well

BUT

• When I create a new linux VM, the installer asks me if I want to re-download the iso or if I want to create the VM from the downloaded iso, the new VM boots perfectly when I reuse the ISO image (the NAT is not working but that is another story maybe).

So it looks like the problem occurs when transitioning from the download to the installation stage. Thanks for letting me know!

Just reproduced here. It looks like there's a bug causing VirtualBuddy to attempt to boot the VM using the remote URL for the install image, rather than the file URL to the downloaded file 😅 I'll fix this and publish an update soon. Thanks again!
