Malware detection with Grayscale Image representation and Markov Chain

This is the repository of our paper "A Study on Image-based Representation Malware Detection Utilizing Extended Malimg Dataset"

We compare two different image representation with Grayscale image and High Order Markov Chain for malware detection. Dataset Grayscale image are Malimg dataset from Nataraj https://dl.acm.org/doi/pdf/10.1145/2016904.2016908

We extended Malimg dataset with benign samples for malware detection. The benign samples were collected from fresh Windows Installation and validated.

We developed it with python on jupyter notebook.
