Microchip Technology Graphics Development using MPLAB® X IDE

Introduction

These tutorials provide how-to guides and best practices for using MPLAB® Harmony Configurator (MHC), MPLAB® Harmony Graphics Composer and MPLAB® X IDE to configure, generate, program and debug MPLAB® Harmony Graphics Suite graphics applications on SAM development boards.

The guide is divided into sections, each section includes summary steps (so you can speed through if you are already familiar with Harmony V3 development boards) and a detailed step-by-step guide.

Prequisites

  • MPLAB® X IDE v5.45
  • MHC v3.6.5 or higher

MPLAB® X IDE

MPLAB® X Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is an expandable, highly configurable software program that incorporates powerful tools to help you discover, configure, develop, debug and qualify embedded graphics designs.

  • Graphically configure peripherals and software libraries with MPLAB® Harmony (32-bit PIC® MCUs and SAM MCUs and MPUs only). Click here for details on how to install.

MHC

The MPLAB® Harmony Configurator (MHC) is a time-saving hardware configuration utility for MPLAB® Harmony, Microchip's award winning software framework. Developers use MHC to get visual understanding and control of the configuration of their target device and application. MHC is a fully integrated tool within MPLAB® X IDE.

  • MHC is available as a plug-in within MPLAB® X IDE. Click here for details on how to install.
