Intro to NHANES on GitHub

In the spirit of open source and collaboration, this organization GitHub account is established to introduce public users of NHANES data to each other to share and improve code for better science, analysis, and health.

Who is the intended audience?

Individuals and organizations interested in building a community of users around NHANES data.

How can I contribute?

  • Build a repository, or just fork on here.
  • Build a wiki, or add to a wiki.
  • Ask questions, answer questions, create a knowledge base
  • Share to avoid reinventing the wheel
  • Track errors
  • It is up to you: If you have a problem, someone else problem shares that problem. Work together on a solution.

What is NHANES?

The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) is a program of studies designed to assess the health and nutritional status of adults and children in the United States. The survey is unique in that it combines interviews and physical examinations.
