I can't even use my editor after applying this patch until I press some arbitrary keys like |

Since the issue #1 was tagged with "wontfix", I assumed it was for lack of time and decided to implement a fix myself, you can run any tests you have locally before merging the changes, but I'm assuming this will be merged as soon as possible.
