Getting Started #1
Comments
Hello,
Currently, I have it not exported in any sort of standalone playable state. The project was mostly a demo and proof of concept for a school project. It currently requires the Unity editor as I have just been running it in that. I believe I used the 2020 LTS version, but I’d have to double check. From there, you should be able to select the project folder and open that up in Unity.
Thanks for your interest!

Hi ryantoon, I was checking GitHub for Nextmind projects and I found yours. First off I wanted to say that I think the idea behind this project is amazing and thank you for creating it and releasing it. But I could not find any instructions for how to run the program. I could not see any calibration scene for the devices in your project either. Could you explain the steps for getting started?
Thank you.

Hi ryantoon, thanks for your reply. For the previous question, what I mean was the problem with calibrating the device in your project. Your project works fine with a fake Nextmind device and left click simulation thing but without calibrating a real device, the focus doesn't work as you know. I tried to add another object with a neural tag and a calibration manager to set up a simple calibration scene but then when I add another neural object your scripts are bugged and neural tags on some pawns got deactivated strangely and as I don't know c#, I could not debug your code. Am I missing something, how did you calibrate your device? |
Also, when I select a piece by focusing, I can see the possible moves in yellow but other pieces are stuck in active state with their neurotags on so the neurotags for yellow squares turn off. Is this a kind of bug or smtg? Here is an image: |
I apologize for the super late reply, I’ve been swamped with school work and totally missed this email. I haven’t actually used the NextMind, I’ve only used the simulated scenes as a demo. It might need a calibration, but I’m not actually 100% sure. I’m pretty sure the GitHub is open so if you find a solution that works feel free to add to it, but unfortunately I don’t think I can help beyond here.
I am sincerely thankful for your interest in my project, and if you find something that works please keep me updated!
