Active support for PHP 8.1 ends on November 25, 2023. PHPUnit 11.0, due on February 2, 2024, will therefore not be supported on PHP 8.1 anymore.

Might be a good issue to ask:
Is there a chance to run phpunit with PHP 8.1 already or do I have to wait for the release in february?

Both PHPUnit 8.5 and PHPUnit 9.5 are supported on PHP 8.1.

I guess you ment PHPUnit 9.5 instead of PHPUnit 5, else it wouldnt make any sense..?
