Bug: the login screen background is all tiled horizontal images

Ubuntu 19.10;
Kind of hard to describe, the lock screen is completely normal, but the login screen, well, have a look-

edit- Whatever background image is selected, is the same image that is tiled on the login screen.

also, when i type in my password, the screen scrolls up, it's really wierd.

Can you please exit Variety, change your background manually from GNOME's preferences and confirm that this is really related to Variety and not to something else. Thanks.

I have been working with a System76 rep who suggested the very same thing. I had completely purged variety and changed the background, still tiled. So, apparently it's not variety. My final solution was to switch to lightdm instead of gdm3, now variety changes the background without any problem. Thanks though! Michael

This should be fixed by #302 - now Variety sets a default display mode for the GNOME lock screen if none is set.
