Project Scope

Long Term Scope

Publish assessments of quality of support provided to users of assistive technologies for:

Any aspect of assistive technology experience that relies on a browser's accessibility tree.
Any web technology that utilizes ARIA semantics that are mapped to a browser accessibility tree.
Any browser widely targeted by web site developers and relied upon by users of assistive technologies.
Any assistive technology for which there is sufficient community support to develop assessment data.

Phases

Exploratory: Learn and document technical challenges via experience.
Pilot: Build basic infrastructure, conduct assessments of 5 APG examples with at least 5 screen reader-browser combinations.

Exploratory Phase

Document experience of assessing two patterns, one simple and one complex.
Analyze and categorize types of issues found.
Determine how well they map to documentation of ARIA roles, states, and properties in the examples.
Determine fields needed in a data model to capture results.
